Unit Betting Guidelines (Recommended Approach)

Professional bettors risk a fixed percentage of their bankroll on each play. We recommend treating 1 unit as 1–2% of your total betting bankroll.

• Sharp Play Highest conviction — typically 8+/10 score: bet 2 units
• Solid Play 4–5/5 confidence meter: bet 1.5 units
• Lean 3/5 or below: bet 1 unit or less

Why this sizing? It matches our AI’s confidence level while keeping risk disciplined. Flat betting the same amount on every pick is also perfectly fine if you prefer simplicity.

Late News Policy (Injuries, Goalies, Pitchers, etc.)

News can break after our 10:30 AM pick release. Here is exactly how to handle each scenario:

• Major negative change — star player ruled out, bad goalie change, key pitcher scratched:
  Hold the pick or reduce to ½ unit. The original edge may be significantly reduced.
• Minor or neutral change — role player out, line shifts slightly:
  Let it ride at full size. The edge is intact.
• Positive change — opponent loses a key player, line moves in your favor:
  Let it ride — your edge improved. Consider adding.

General Rules for Long-Term Success

• Only bet what you can afford to lose. Set your unit size before the season and do not deviate during losing streaks.
• Line shop across your books. Half-points matter. FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, and Caesars price markets differently — always get the best number.
• Track every bet in your dashboard. Starting May 8, every LineEdge pick is automatically recorded. Log your wagered amount and actual line for a real P&L picture.
• Long-term edge beats short-term results. A 60% win rate still loses 4 out of 10 bets. Three losses in a row is normal. Judge performance over 50+ picks, not yesterday’s card.
